August: Discover wines that go with hors d'oeuvres!
Each guest should visit local wine merchants to ask about the best wines to go with a favorite hors d'oeuvres.  Ask questions and learn!   Of course - you will never know how much you like the recommended wine until you sample it.  Bring an hors d'oeuvres and a bottle of wine and be prepared to tell the rest of us something about it.  This would also be a great time to start a wine diary as you will be able to try a lot of different wines.  Making notes as you go will create a great list you can use when buying wine in the future.
